Project
Nardu
is the key educational and
promotional vehicle of The Valley
Centre for Environmental Education &
Research Incorporated
(The Valley
Centre) and involves
experiential learning through
collaborative community action.
Over the last fifteen years Project
Nardu has developed a model
through community consultation and
action research.
Nardu's
two key programs are:
The
Nardu
Young Australian Achievers Award:
This exciting and innovative program
for young people is sponsored by the
Australian Government and is
designed to bridge cultural and
socio-economic diversity. The
program encourages young Australians
to experience personal achievement
in a context of sustainable
community building.
The Nardu National Environmental
Education Program:
This is an innovative and
reproducible education program,
which will seed conservation
training and nature sanctuaries
across the country and eventually
overseas.
Nardu is an
Australian-Aboriginal name and means
a plant with edible seeds. This is
a seed that can be sown
across the country. The
harvest will be the contributing and
informed young Australians who will
then be prepared to lead Australia
into the future in a sustainable
way.
The Nardu Centre is a
170-Acre property and natural flora
and fauna sanctuary 1.5 hours from
the Sydney CBD.
The vision is to build a world-class
training centre and wildlife
sanctuary. |
