The National Award Office
The Valley Centre for
Environmental Education & Research Inc. (ABN: 95 694
800 114) administers the Nardu Young Australian
Achievers Award program and is registered with
Environment Australia as a non-profit environmental
organisation, with charitable status. Full
time support covering every aspect of the program as
well as a detailed training package and newsletters are
provided.
School/Organisation Co-ordinators
A senior program coordinator is
required to lead a co-ordination/promotion team acting
as guides for the Survivor camp in the Bronze
Certificate program. They are also responsible for
signing off student record books and providing feedback
to students selecting their activities for the Silver
Certificate and Gold Medal Awards.
The school principal or senior
officer of a community organisation can sign off the
registration form as the Senior Officer who is
responsible for the administration of the program within
their school/organisation.
How to register
Schools and youth organisations are invited to become
registered operators of the
Nardu Young Australian Achievers Award program.

Training Package
A
training package and DVD will be provided, which will
include details on every aspect of the program,
including OH & S and assessment and evaluation
strategies.
Cost to
become a Registered Operator
Schools and
organisations should note that there is no
administration cost to students who take part in the
Nardu Young Australian Achievers Award program.
The cost for a school/organisation
is as follows:

NB: Ongoing cost is $75 for
yearly membership fee. This includes continued
insurance cover as below, administration support,
newsletters and promotional material.
Insurance
The Valley Centre for
Environmental Education and Research Inc. has insurance
that covers members and associate members anywhere in
Australia whilst they are involved in this program.
However specialist activities such as canoeing or
abseiling require insured instructors.
Trust Fund
Special consideration will be
given to young people who are disadvantaged and/or "at
risk" making the program accessible to all secondary
school students in Australia. The Valley Centre for
Environmental Education & Research Inc. has set up a
fund to assist these young people with the costs
associated with the Survivor camp in the Bronze
Certificate Award.
Certificates and Gold Medals
There will be no cost to schools,
organisations or students for the award Certificates and
Gold Medals as these are provided by a corporate
sponsor.
Due Date
Registration forms and remittances
can be submitted at any time during the year. |
